Dedicated to Moctezuma I, the supreme ruler who presided over the golden age of the Aztec Empire, this Limited Edition 4810 draws its form from the atlatl — an Aztec spear-throwing device — with a cone refined in hammer finish echoing the obsidian blade of a sacrificial knife. The barrel is lacquered in petrol and carmine red, colours drawn from the royal cloak, while the cap bears two hieroglyphs marking the years of Moctezuma's reign. The handcrafted Au 750 solid gold nib is engraved with the Aztec glyph for Tenochtitlán — a three-armed cactus crowned with a royal diadem and two scrolls.
